- Is Battery Rewards available for all residential customers with compatible systems?

Battery Rewards is currently available for all eligible residential customers on residential tariffs (Home Plan (A1), Home Business Plan (K1), Midday Saver or Electric Vehicle Add On tariffs) that are installing a compatible battery storage system through the WA Residential Battery Scheme. Customers registered with life support equipment at the property will not be eligible to participate in the program.
- Am I eligible for Synergy Battery Rewards?

To be eligible for Battery Rewards, you need to:
- Participate in and install a compatible battery storage system through the WA Residential Battery Scheme.
- Be a Synergy residential customer in respect of the residential property (your home).
- Have a reliable internet connection at your home.
- Be on an eligible residential tariffs (Home Plan (A1), Home Business Plan (K1), Midday Saver or Electric Vehicle Add On tariffs) at your home.
- Agree to an inspection of the approved battery installation if our Synergy team need this.
- Have a battery system at your home that meets Synergy’s technical specifications (see below).
- Have your home and the system connected to the Western Power Network at a connection point.
- Have no life support equipment or service required at your home.
- Not be participating in a conflicting Virtual Power Plant service or product (Synergy or otherwise) as determined by Synergy acting reasonably.
- Consent to Synergy exercising the Synergy Rights.
- What are Synergy Rights?

Synergy Rights refer to the permissions you give Synergy to remotely manage and operate your battery system as part of your participation in the Battery Rewards program (and by extension Synergy’s Virtual Power Plant program).
By agreeing to the terms, you consent to Synergy doing the following at its discretion:
- Registering your system on Synergy’s servers.
- Connecting to your system remotely on an ongoing basis.
- Remotely operating your system, which may include:
o Charging or discharging your battery,
o Holding stored energy, and
o Running test events, activation standby windows, and activation events. - Adjusting your system settings.
- Monitoring your system’s performance.
- Receiving and using system data such as settings, capabilities, and status updates.
- Using advanced software and internet connectivity to support these functions.
If you are a DEBS Customer, you also agree that Synergy may use your system for Emergency Solar Management (ESM) in line with the DEBS Terms and ESM Requirements.
Certain Synergy Rights continue even after your agreement ends, specifically those related to system monitoring and ESM participation.
- I’ve just purchased or leased a home with a battery, can I sign up?

If the battery was installed through the WA Residential Battery Scheme, your system is compatible, and you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be able to join the Battery Rewards program.
- I’m moving house soon and my new home also has a battery, can I move my Battery Rewards agreement to my new home?

We recommend you first check with your battery manufacturer to check whether your new property’s battery storage system is compatible.
If your new home’s battery system is compatible and you continue to meet the eligibility criteria, you will be able to sign up for Battery Rewards at your new property.
Remember that you will also need to notify us to cancel the agreement on your current property by calling us.
