Construction begins on accommodation for King Rocks Wind Farm workforce

Construction starts on King Rocks workers accommodation

Construction has started on the workers’ accommodation for King Rocks Wind Farm.

Synergy awarded Perth-based BBB Remote Site Services (part of Centurion Group) the contract to build and operate the accommodation village near Hyden.

BBB Remote Site Services will design, manufacture, deliver and install 189 temporary rooms and associated facilities as part of the accommodation village.

Synergy Chief Executive Officer, Kurt Baker, said work starting on the accommodation village was great news for Hyden and the surrounding region.

“More than 30 jobs are expected to be created throughout the duration of the workers’ accommodation project,” Mr Baker said.

“With construction of the accommodation facility now underway, we expect workers to be living in the village later this year.”

Synergy’s King Rocks Wind Farm will have 17 wind turbines and generate up to 105 megawatts of renewable energy.

Construction of the wind farm is set to start in coming months. The wind farm is expected to be operational in 2027.
