National Energy Bill Relief Plan

Synergy welcomes the Commonwealth and WA State Government announcements of a National and WA State Energy Bill Offset for eligible residential and small business customers.

WA Government Energy Assistance Program

This rebate has replaced the Cost of Living Allowance (CoLA) and supports eligible concession card holders by paying $326.32 of their energy bill each year.

Hardship Utilities Grant Scheme (HUGS)

This is State Government initiative to support Western Australian families and households to pay their electricity, water or gas bills if they're experiencing financial hardship.

How much you'll save

Eligibility

We'll work with you to determine your HUGS eligibility and payment amount if you're:

  • A residential customer
  • Assessed by Synergy to confirm financial hardship (in line with our hardship policy)
  • Unable to pay your current bill or you've already had your service disconnected

Dependent Child Rebate

Supports eligible customers who have dependent children by reducing the amount owing on their energy bill.

How much you'll save
The rebate is calculated daily and is based on the number of dependent children listed on your concession card.

Account Establishment Fee Rebate

This rebate helps eligible customers to cover the costs associated with establishing a new energy account. It applies to residential customers only and will be credited on the first bill you receive.

How do I update my concessions?

The easiest way to add or manage your concessions is via My Account. Just have a copy of your bill and any eligible concession card/s handy.

Air Conditioning Rebate

Subsidises the cost of running an air conditioner in areas that are deemed high heat discomfort locations, during the hottest months.

How much you'll save
Up to 221.8 units kilowatt hours (KWh) for every month it can be claimed. e.g This equals $68.34 per month on an A1 Home Tariff.

Which areas are considered high heat discomfort locations?
You'll need to live north of the 26th Parallel and/or north of the 50 Day Relative Strain Index line to be eligible.

Life Support Equipment Electricity Subsidy

Offered by the WA State Government to support families and households with the costs associated with operating life support equipment at home.
