The WA State Government, alongside the Australian Federal Government, has announced new initiatives to support the uptake and installation of household rooftop solar and battery storage solutions, helping more Western Australians transition to a renewable energy future.
From 1 July 2025, eligible Synergy residential customers will have access to financial incentives to encourage more households to invest in household energy assets:
Synergy customers will be able to apply for the rebate from July 1, 2025.
To be eligible for the scheme, households will be required to participate in a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). More information on Synergy’s VPP Product Battery Rewards will be available soon.
Learn more about the WA Residential Battery Scheme from the WA State Government’s website.
At Synergy, we’re supporting our customers to make the most of these new incentives. Soon, we’ll have some new Virtual Power Plant programs to help customers get the most out of these upcoming Government backed initiatives and help keep WA’s energy system more reliable for all.
As part of the WA state Government rebate scheme, your battery will be connected to the energy system through a program called Battery Rewards. This will allow Synergy Battery Rewards customers to earn value for exporting excess stored energy back to the system when it needs it most. More information on this product will be shared as it becomes available. Visit Battery Rewards.
