Are business electricity prices changing?
Yes. The State Government has approved price changes to regulated business tariffs effective 1 July 2025. We have worked hard to keep increases to Synergy’s tariffs, fees, and charges as low as possible for our business customers.

When will price changes come into effect?
Changes to regulated electricity tariffs, fees, charges, and Merchant Service fees are effective from 1 July 2025, subject to relevant legislation taking effect by that date.

Why do electricity business tariffs change?
Regulated electricity tariffs are reviewed and determined by the State Government. The retail tariffs are set each year and consider the changes to the costs of generating and providing electricity, as well as the costs associated with maintaining the safety, security and sustainability of the electricity network.

Has there been a change to my business's solar buyback rate?
The non-residential Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS) rate remains unchanged at 7.1350 cents per kWh.
Is the NaturalPower contribution changing?
The price Synergy pays for Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) has decreased over the last 12 months. This means the price that you pay per unit of NaturalPower or EasyGreen electricity will decrease from 1 July 2025 to 3.4283 cents per unit (incl GST).
The NaturalPower and EasyGreen products include a contribution paid by you (above the standard regulated retail tariff) that is used to purchase LGCs from nationally-accredited GreenPower renewable energy sources, helping your household or business to work towards becoming carbon neutral. Renewable energy purchased by Synergy with these contributions is then fed into the electricity grid, where it mixes with energy produced from non-renewable sources before being supplied to your home or business. Why are the regulated L3 and R3 business rates rising so much?
The changes to the prices this year are being impacted by increases across most cost stack components including market fees and energy costs and network charges.
