Synergy 2018 annual report

The wave of change impacting the energy industry globally is accelerating, leading to rapid and transformational change in how electricity is generated, bought, sold and distributed. While the energy sector at both levels of government needs a coordinated and collaborative direction, the discussion going forward must include some difficult decisions at a State level, if consumers are to benefit in the future.

Synergy shines light on crisis support over the festive season

Synergy is partnering with Lifeline WA to bring WA’s tallest Christmas tree to Elizabeth Quay from December 2 to raise awareness of Western Australians in crisis over the festive season. The Lights for Lifeline powered by Synergy and you campaign aims to save lives this Christmas by raising much-needed funds that go towards training volunteers to take calls from people in crisis. More than 50,000 LED lights on the 15 metre tree will be lit up to represent the number of calls for help Lifeline WA receives every year.

Synergy apprentices take on electric racing

Apprentices at Synergy’s Muja Power Station are plugging into the power of electric vehicles with the aim of earning first place in this year’s ICT Global EV Challenge. Each year, a team of apprentices from the power station, near Collie, enter the state-wide competition to build and race a single-seat electric vehicle.

Synergy provides new power to Bunbury-based Thommo’s Garden

Synergy has given Thommo’s Garden a helping hand to power its new kitchen and improve its security lighting with a donation of a 3kW solar photovoltaic (PV), battery system and new LED lights. Since its inception in 2009 as an off-the-grid premise, Thommo’s Garden has provided people with the experience of growing their own gardens and the opportunity to learn more about horticulture in a community environment - which they're now able to do without the need of diesel generators.
