Synergy announces new Chairman and board changes

Synergy has announced that Robert Cole will be appointed as Chairman, effective from the 1st of November 2017.

Mr Cole brings with him over 30 years of experience in the energy and resources sectors, and was previously the Managing Director of ASX-listed Beach Energy (ASX:BPT) and an Executive Director of Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL).

He is currently the Executive Chairman of the GLX Group of Companies, which is operationalising a global online LNG trading platform.

Mr Cole will succeed current Chairman Lyndon Rowe, who will remain in the position until the commencement of Mr Cole’s tenure.

Synergy Chief Executive Officer Jason Waters has welcomed Mr Cole’s appointment and has thanked Lyndon Rowe for his contribution to Synergy.

“It is an exciting time for Synergy and we are pleased to welcome Rob to the board,” Mr Waters said.

“He brings with him a wealth of commercial and energy experience, which will be invaluable to the Synergy business.”

“I would also like to extend my sincerest thanks to our existing Chairman Lyndon Rowe.  I have valued Lyndon’s leadership and support over the past few years and he has been instrumental in establishing Synergy’s direction and growth since his appointment in 2014.”

In addition, Synergy is pleased to announce that Yasmin Broughton, a corporate lawyer with more than 13 years’ experience in working with ASX listed boards, has been appointed as Non-Executive Director.

Mr Waters has also extended his sincerest thanks to Michael Goddard for his contribution to Synergy as a Non-Executive Director.

Mr Goddard will depart after completing a four year term with Synergy.

Rob Bransby has been re-appointed as Non-Executive Director and Kim Horne has been reappointed as Deputy Chair of Synergy.
