Construction starts on Warradarge Wind Farm Stage 2

Construction has started on Stage 2 of Warradarge Wind Farm near Eneabba.

Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation Amber-Jade Sanderson today visited the site to see the progress.

An additional 30 wind turbines are being installed making Warradarge Wind Farm the biggest wind farm in WA.

The 30 new wind turbines will be capable of providing 103 megawatts of wind energy.

Once Stage 2 is complete, the entire wind farm will feature 81 turbines providing up to 283 megawatts (MW) of power for the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).

The expansion is due to be completed in 2027. Most of Stage 2 will be built among the existing turbines.

More than 120 jobs are expected to be created at the peak of construction.

Warradarge Wind Farm is owned by Bright Energy Investments (BEI), a joint venture between Government-owned Synergy and Potentia Energy.

Warradarge Wind Farm started operating in 2020 and is one of the top performing wind assets in Australia.
