Western Australia's energy transformation is underway. At Synergy, we are working closely with our people on their transition journey as part of our best-practice Muja Power Station Workforce Transition Program.
Western Australians are embracing renewable energy technology at record rates, reducing demand for traditional generation sources. To support system reliability and affordable electricity for Western Australians, in August 2019 the State Government announced the staged closure of Muja Power Station C Units 5 and 6 from October 2022.
We have taken a collaborative, people-first approach toward the known closure dates of Muja Power Station Unit C and all affected Synergy employees have long-term transition plans in place as part of our Workforce Transition Program.

Just Transition
Synergy’s focus is on a supportive and just transition for our people, their families and the communities in which they live as part of Collie’s broader transition from emissions-intensive industries. We strongly support the State Government’s broader Just Transition Plan for the Collie community and are a key member of the Just Transition Working Group, which explores initiatives to unlock economic opportunity and social benefits for Collie.
