Feed in Tariff
The net Feed-in tariff scheme is a subsidy designed to encourage the installation of residential renewable energy systems. The subsidy (called the net feed-in tariff rate) is paid per unit of net electricity exported to the electricity grid from eligible systems.
Eligible residential customers on the Home Plan (A1) or SmartPower tariff began receiving the net feed-in tariff payments on 1 August 2010. New and existing photovoltaic (PV), wind and micro-hydro systems are able to participate.
The net Feed in Tariff scheme has been set at 40c per kilowatt hour on electricity imported to the south west interconnected system and regional grids.
To participate in the residential net Feed-in Tariff Scheme, eligible customers will need to apply for the Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS). For more information about REBS including the terms and conditions to participate in the scheme, please click here.
