How is the REBS rate calculated?

The rate Synergy pays customers who export excess energy back in to the grid is independently reviewed and approved by the State Government's Coordinator of Energy.

The Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS) buyback rate takes into account the amount Synergy pays for electricity from generators but is less than the standard supply charge customers pay Synergy for electricity.

The reason why the buyback rate is less is due to other necessary costs we pay to keep you connected, supply electricity to and from your home and administer your energy account.
