Can solar help reduce my power bill?

There are many ways to reduce a residential energy bill. Along with managing electricity demands in peak times and reducing appliance use, homeowners can also embrace the power of renewable energy by installing solar panels.

Why should I make the switch to solar?

As well as reducing the impact of a household on the environment, solar panels allow homeowners to save money on the cost of their power bill.

Depending on the size of the solar system you install, these can result in savings of hundreds of dollars over the course of a year.

What is solar payback?

With solar installations, you're generating electricity for free, meaning the systems eventually pay for themselves. To work out how long it will take for these energy savings to pay off your solar investment, get started with our solar payback calculator.

How will solar buyback affect my investment?

If you're using a solar system to power your home, there is a chance you will generate more renewable electricity than you can actually use. In these cases, we can buy the excess energy you export back to the grid , making it even faster to pay back your solar investment.

The Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS) is available to residential customers, educational institutions and not-for-profit organisations.

Western Power will need to approve your connection and we'll let you know if you're eligible for REBS when you apply to connect solar to the grid.
