- When will these price changes come into effect?
The changes to Synergy’s regulated electricity tariffs, fees and charges for business will take effect on 1 July 2020 and are published at synergy.net.au/pricechanges
- Are business electricity prices changing?
The State Government has approved price changes to regulated business tariffs, Synergy has worked hard to keep increases to Synergy's tariffs, fees and charges for businesses as low as possible this year.

- Why do electricity business tariffs change?
The State Government undertakes annual reviews of electricity tariffs to account for any changes in the cost components that make up the regulated tariff rates. These include electricity generation, network access, regulatory costs as well as the costs associated with maintaining your account. The prices are adjusted by the State Government annually following this review.
- Are gas prices likely to increase?
ATCO’s regulated gas distribution charges were updated in January 2020. You would have received a communication regarding this if your business was impacted. Please contact your account manager if you would like to discuss this further.
- How is Synergy assisting customers to manage these increases?
There’s never been a tougher time to be in business and Synergy is doing everything reasonably possible to reduce financial stress on WA businesses and charities. We’ve committed to no electricity disconnections and no interest or fee payments for deferred payments or energy instalment plans for eligible businesses until at least 30 September 2020. Over 75,000 eligible WA businesses and charities have also received an account offset of $2,500 from the WA Government, to help take the pressure off their electricity bill.

- How does this impact on my investment in Solar for my business?
The non-residential Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS) rate remains unchanged at 7.1350 cents per kWh.
