Synergy's 2017-18 performance review
Synergy’s Chairman Robert Cole and CEO Jason Waters have discussed the organisation’s 2017-18 performance, challenges posed by the current state of Australia’s energy sector, the rise of renewables and Synergy’s outlook.
“There’s a profound change affecting the industry, there is a wave of change. There are multiple forces at play, we have had low population growth in the state, subdued economic growth and at the same time a real change in the generation mix and how customers are using energy,” Mr Cole said.
“In terms of generation mix, the biggest factor has been the rise and rise of rooftop solar, which has grown almost in a straight line over the past five years and that trend is set to continue.”
