Synergy lights up Leederville carnival with green energy

Renewable energy will be the highlight of this year’s ‘Light Up Leederville Carnival powered by Synergy’ on Sunday 4 December 2016.

Synergy will light up the carnival with renewable energy, powering all of the carnival’s temporary structures, stalls, food vendors, stages, entertainment and activities.

Exciting new attractions to this year’s carnival include a creative five-metre-high LED ‘light’ dome, interactive light projections, a photo booth and an automated ‘music mill’ for people to experience.

Synergy will also give away free popcorn which will be popped using bike power at the Synergy stand located on Oxford Street.

The one-day community event is a highlight in our city’s cultural calendar, attracting more than 80,000 people.  Parts of Carr, Newcastle, Oxford and Vincent streets will be closed to traffic and be filled with 250 market stalls, music, fashion, art and free entertainment.

Synergy chief executive officer Jason Waters said Synergy was pleased to support the much loved community event by providing all of its power requirements with renewable energy.

“We recognise the important contribution we can make by demonstrating the positive role energy plays in delivering vibrant community initiatives such as the Light Up Leederville Carnival,” Mr Waters said.

“As WA’s leading energy provider, Synergy is committed to providing energy management solutions as we transition to a contemporary and responsive business that embraces innovative technology and the use of renewable energy.”

Entry to the ‘Light Up Leederville Carnival powered by Synergy’ is free and runs from 12 noon to 9pm in the heart of Leederville.
