Q: I am the builder of the home and also the future resident. What are my energy product options?
- There’s a variety of energy product and billing choices you can make to save time, money, and your impact on the environment. My Account is a free service that stores your account history, and lets you manage and pay your energy bills online. If you would like to reduce your total energy bill, SmartPower could be an option. Q: When will my power be connected?
- Your electrician will send Western Power a completion notice when your property is ready to have power connected. Western Power will usually have you connected within 5 working days after receiving the notice, if you live in a metropolitan area. If you're in a country area, it can take up to 10 working days. Your electrician can tell you when the completion notice was sent. If there are any problems or delays, ask your electrician to help by calling the Western Power Energisation Department on your behalf.

Q: Who should be the account holder?
- Whenever a property has a power supply, there must be an account holder who is responsible for paying the account. The account holder is usually the property owner, but if you only need power temporarily, the builder or electrician can be the account holder. This way, the tradesperson will be billed for any power used during construction. If you’re not sure who should be responsible, check your building contract for details.
