  • Q: What is EasyGreen?

  • EasyGreen is the simplest way to reduce your environmental impact. When you subscribe to EasyGreen, part of your Synergy bill payment is used to purchase a block of renewable energy. This renewable energy comes from natural sources that produce no, or only a small amount of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Q: Am I eligible for EasyGreen?

  • All home with a main meter can apply for EasyGreen. You can only use one green energy product at a time, so you can't have EasyGreen with EarthFriendly or NaturalPower.
  • Q: Why is choosing EasyGreen good for the environment?

  • Your subscription to EasyGreen includes a renewable energy purchase. And unlike the traditional ways of generating power, renewable energy such as wind power emits little or no greenhouse gases into our atmosphere.

So choosing EasyGreen reduces your environmental impact, by producing less of the greenhouse gas emissions responsible for global warming.

  • Q: Where is EasyGreen sourced from?

  • Your EasyGreen contribution is used to purchase renewable energy from wind farms and other sources right here in WA. So you are also doing something good for the local economy.
  • Q: Is EasyGreen accredited by GreenPower?

  • EasyGreen is accredited by the National GreenPower Accreditation Program - so your EasyGreen premium is matched dollar-for-dollar with renewable energy purchased from accredited generators.

To maintain GreenPower acreditation, EasyGreen meets a set of standards including:

    • sourcing our renewable energy from GreenPower approved generators
    • supports the development of the renewable energy industry by sourcing EasyGreen from recently established generators
    • publicly reporting EasyGreen customer numbers and sales
    • presenting our EasyGreen operations to an independent annual audit, to ensure we are buying the right amount of renewable energy to match your EasyGreen investment

The GreenPower logo confirms EasyGreen meets the standards of the National GreenPower Program, and is contributing to a greener future.

  • Q: What does EasyGreen cost?

  • EasyGreen lets you choose a fixed dollar amount ranging from $10 to $80, as the premium added to your bi-monthly Synergy bill. It is this premium amount which is used to directly purchase renewable energy.

Use our online calculator to compare all your EasyGreen premium choices, and the difference it will make to your environmental impact.

  • Q: What is the impact of a $20 EasyGreen contribution?

  • Let's say you choose the EasyGreen option of a $20 premium, with each power bill. Your $20 investment would be used to purchase 328kWh ($20 @ 6.1 cents per kWh) of renewable energy. To give you some idea of the difference this makes, 328kWh is equal to around *31% of an average household's consumption for the same period. Over a whole year, the greenhouse gas emission saving is the equivalent of taking an average car off the road for 7 months!

    * Figures based on 6,315kWh per year.

  • Q: Why does EasyGreen cost more than regular power?

  • EasyGreen costs more than non-renewable power because currently the cost of purchasing accredited power is higher than energy produced from traditional means such as coal or gas. By paying a premium, you are taking positive action to reduce your carbon footprint. You select the premium amount that suits you, at set levels between $10 and $80.
  • Q: What are my premium options with EasyGreen?

  • You can choose to contribute a fixed premium amount of $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, $60, $70 or $80 per power bill to EasyGreen.
  • Q: Will rebates still apply is I choose EasyGreen?

  • Yes, if you are eligible, you will continue to receive your Supply Charge Rebate, Dependent Child Rebate, and reduced fees.
