  • Q: What is eBill?

  • eBill is a comprehensive electronic billing and payment solution, with downloadable energy data that is ideal for companies with multiple sites.
  • Q: Is eBill suitable to my type of business?

  • If your business has more than 5 sites, you currently have manual bill management processes and want to opt for electronic delivery of billing data, eBill will be especially suitable for your enterprise.
  • Q: What file formats is eBill available in?

  • The bill data is available in three file formats to suit various accounts payable systems. These are Fixed Length Text (txt), Comma Separated Value (csv), and Extensible Markup Language (xml).
  • Q: How can I be sure that eBill is compatible with my accounts payable systems?

  • We will provide a test file to ensure system compatibility (so far we have had a 100% success rate).
  • Q: What will eBill cost?

  • Synergy charges a service fee of $350 (inclusive of GST), to set up your standard eBill. A separate quote will be provided for non-standard eBill where customization is required.  In the event that you have any maintenance work to be completed it will cost a rate of $140 per hour inclusive of GST.
  • Q: Can an eBill save me money?

  • Yes. If you process your electricity bills manually, considerable time (which translates into a cost) will be saved through the reduction of data entry, checking and filing of invoices.  Moreover, the downloadable file minimizes the chances of error as it takes away the manual data entry process.

    Additionally, because eBill increases you ability to track energy usage accurately, you may also achieve savings through a reduction or elimination of late payment fees and through the monitoring of peak and off peak usage.

  • Q: What if I'm not happy with eBill and want to return to my old accounting system?

  • You are welcome to return to paper invoices.  Generally we would like our customers to stay with eBill for 12 months.  It will cost $100 (incl GST) to revert to paper tax invoices.
  • Q: Do I need to meet any special requirements?

  • eBill Customers will need to have the following:

    • An Electronic Funds Transfer facility;
    • A list of all current Synergy account numbers to be included in their eBill (all applicable sites need to be placed into a Group Bill prior to migrating to eBill) and;
    • File specifications for their accounts payable system for non-standard eBills that require customization.
  • Q: If I want eBill, what do I do next?

  • We provide a test file to ensure system compatibility (so far we have had a 100% success rate). If the test files are compatible, complete your eBill Agreement and return it to your Synergy contact.
  • Q: Why did Synergy develop eBill?

  • To provide you with direct access to your energy data in a range of electronic bill formats according your requirements. In accord with its environmental strategy, Synergy also wants to contribute to a paperless environment.
  • Q: Can we receive paper bills along with eBill?

  • No, but you can print the PDF file provided with your eBill.
  • Q: Do I need group bill set up for eBill?

  • Yes.  This is, however, to your advantage as you will only incur one set up fee of $350 (incl GST) per grouping/eBill setup.
  • Q: Can I nominate more than one e-mail address to receive eBill?

  • No, but we can send your eBill to a group e-mail address.
  • Q: The test files indicate that our systems are not compatible with eBill, but we are still interested in receiving our bills electronically? Is there anything you can do?

  • Yes. We will require a file specification of your accounts payable system and then can provide a quote for any customisation required to make eBill compatible with your system.
