Your home and situation are unique, so the savings in this tool should just be used as a rough guide. The savings and any other information provided by this tool are based on:

  • The current tariffs
  • An average sized home of 200m2
  • Typical standby power consumption of 92.2 watts per household
  • Reducing shower time per person from 8 to 4 minutes, for 2 showers per day
  • Washing clothes in cold water instead of hot, where hot wash temperature is 40C
  • Owning a home computer with an average power draw of 100 watts
  • The accuracy of the data that you put into the tool
