Background

Switch Off was created by two Perth students in La Sale College's Talented and Gifted program, Jessica Gill and Laura Ryan, and ran for the first time in Term 3 of 2009. Synergy, Solar Shop Australia and Equilibrium are the sponsors of the competition.

The competition is helping to make a real difference to the energy consumption of WA schools. In 2009 Quinns Beach Primary School won, managing to reduce their energy use by 29.41% over the competition period.
