Solar Flagship Program

UPDATE: Please note the Solar Flagship Program Expression of Interest request closed at on the 29th January 2010. We would like to thank all those who have submitted a response.

The Australian Federal Government recently announced the Solar Flagships Program, which will commit $1.5 billion to support the construction and operation of solar power stations around Australia, with a target capacity of up to 1000 MW.

Synergy invites parties to express their interest in potentially developing solar power station projects in Western Australia.

Synergy seeks expressions of interest from parties seeking to develop WA-based solar projects connected to the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) with a minimum capacity of 0.5 MW and a maximum capacity of approximately 50 MW. If a compelling proposal exists, Synergy will consider proposals significantly in excess of 50 MW of capacity.

Responses should be lodged to Synergy in person between 9:00am and 10:00am (AWST) on Friday, 29 January, 2010.

Synergy’s requirements and the procedures governing this process are explained in the Expression of Interest and Public Notice documents below.
