Energy efficient workshops
If you’re interested in learning how your garden can reduce your power usage, and save you money, join-in one of our free Synergy Energy Efficient Workshops.
To get an idea of some of the great tips you can learn at the workshops, take a look at our Great Gardens team in action with a before and after garden makeover, and see how you too can turn your garden into a natural air conditioner
There are limited seats available at the workshops, so to reserve your spot now at your nearest location, book here online.
These free workshops are run through the Great Gardens program, one of the most successful community education programs in WA. Single sessions run for a few hours, at various locations across metropolitan Perth and south-west WA.
You might be surprised to learn how your choice of plant, where you plant it, as well as the location of paving and pergolas can all influence the temperature inside your home.
Come away from the workshop with some tips and tricks for reducing your power bill, using garden design and plant selection to keep your home cooler in summer and warmer in winter. There's also money saving advice on power-wasting appliances, and passive solar building design.
At the workshop you can also find out about the latest renewable energy alternatives available, including solar and wind generated power. We have sustainable energy options that you can learn more about through this website, including EasyGreen, EarthFriendly and NaturalPower.
Great Gardens has been a huge success since it started in 2003 — in fact more than 22,000 people have taken part in hundreds of workshops in WA.
