Our SmartWays Energy Calculator can help. It will estimate the approximate cost of running your different appliances (based on the residential A1 tariff), provide tips on how to save energy in every room and it also calculates how much greenhouse gas each appliance produces.   

If you have been through the house before and just want to use the calculator, if you do not have broadband or have sight difficulties, you may bypass the interactive section.  The interactive section requires a Flash Viewer. 

Every person uses appliances differently.  The efficiency of the appliance itself, how it is used and where it is used, can all dramatically affect how much energy each appliance will use.  For this reason the calculator's results page is only an estimate of what the cost may be.

The Energy calculator only applies to the residential A1 tariff. Customers who have SmartPower cannot use the calculator for appliances that are used in the SmartPower 'off peak' periods but it may be used for appliances used in the 'peak' rate period.
