Rebates

The State Government has announced that rebates for residential customers will increase to assist with the tariff increases. Eligibility for regional air conditioning rebates will also be extended to include Dependent Child Rebate recipients and increased payments will be made to Hardship Utility Grant customers.

Please see below to find out if you are eligible for an energy rebate.

The State Government has announced a fridge replacement scheme for renters of private accommodation who have been declared in utility hardship by an accredited financial counsellor.  If you may be eligible for this scheme, please speak to your Financial Counsellor.



The following existing rebates apply to Residential customers only:

  • Seniors Card holders are eligible for:
    • supply charge rebate

  • Centrelink Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card  or  Veteran Affairs Gold Card (War Widow, Dependant, Totally and Permanently Incapacitated) card holders are eligible for:
    • reduced meter testing fees
    • supply charge rebate 
    • account establishment fee rebate
  • Customers with dependant children listed on their card, are also entitled to a rebate on a proportion of the energy charge.

  • In multiple residences where the electricity is supplied through one main meter, each additional residence is also charged a supply charge. A rebate may be claimed by eligible customers.

Hospital outpatients suffering serious heart, lung and kidney diseases

This Western Australian Government subsidy is for patients who use heart pumps, high-capacity oxygen concentrators or peritoneal dialysis machines at home.  In some cases the subsidy is available retrospectively from January 1, 2005.

Thermoregulatory Dysfunction Energy Subsidy

This Western Australian Government subsidy applies to financially disadvantaged persons or their dependents, who require heating and/or cooling to control the temperature in their homes under specialist medical advice.
