Commercial Sites

The Synergy New Connections team can assist you with the power connection to your new commercial site.  For all connections to the distribution network at 33kv or less you must first complete the Western Power Design and quotation form

If you use less than 50MWH a year (which equates to around $8000 worth of electricity) Synergy is your retailer.  If you use more electricity per annum you may have a choice of retailer.  In these circumstances you may call Synergy on 1300 859 333 and we will work with you to tailor the best energy solution for your business.

It is recommended that you read the information on the Western Power site on Commercial Connections in preparation.

Power Connections – the process steps

  1. Organise power to the site (underground dome may already be organised by Developer).  See Preparing the site for a Power Connection.
  2. Call Synergy on 6212 2105 to establish your electricity account and to obtain the reference number. Or 1300 859 333 for larger sites where electricity usage is likely to be over $8000 per year. When opening an account in a business name we require the ABN/ACN director's name, date of birth and home address, contact details for the main contact person on the account, and a mailing address.
  3. Include reference numbers with Electrical Notices, which are submitted to the Network Provider Western Power by the Electrical Contractor.
  4. Western Power may arrange to inspect your site. Allow 5 working days in the Metropolitan area and 10 working days in Country areas from the date on which the Electrical Completion Notice is submitted to Western Power for the connection to be completed.  On most occasions Western Power will connect the site, however an accredited electrical contractor may connect the power on your behalf.

See the Builders and Developer' Forms page for a selection of forms that may be required.
