Information about New Connections

Synergy has a specialised team of experts who have developed initiatives to make the process of connecting power to a new site/premise as simple as possible.  The information on this website is provided to clarify the process and you may call the team direct on Builder’s priority line 6212 2105 between 0800 and 1700 Monday to Friday for further advice.

For your convenience, we can arrange a connect brochure (including both the commercial and residential application forms) to be sent to you.  Please ask your client to fill out the application form in this brochure as part of their prestart meeting.  Contact us if you would like to arrange a bulk order of the brochures.

Power Connections – the process steps

1. Organise power to the site (underground dome may already be organised by the Developer).  See Preparing the site for a Power Connection for further information on this.
2. Call Synergy to establish your electricity account and to obtain the reference number.
3. Include reference numbers with Electrical Notices, which are submitted to our Network Provider, Western Power, by the Electrical Contractor.
4. Western Power may arrange to inspect your site. Allow 5 working days in the Metropolitan area and 10 working days in Country areas from the date on which the Electrical Completion Notice is submitted to Western Power for the connection to be completed.  On most occasions Western Power will connect the site, however an accredited electrical contractor may connect the power on your behalf.
